3 When the predictive text input is in use, the <??> indicator is shown
at the top of the display.
Tip:If the predictive text input is off, you can quickly turn it on by
selecting the option
T9 on/off. If predictive text input is on, selecting
T9 on/off turns it off.
Writing words using the predictive text input
1 When in the predictive text input, start writing a word by using the
keys 2 to 9. Press each key only once for one letter. For example, to
write ‘hello’, press 4 for h, 3 for e, 5 for l, 5 for l and 6 for o.
Do not pay any attention to how the word appears on the display until
you have completed the word.
2 If the displayed word is correct, press 0 to get a space, then start
writing the next word.
If the displayed word is not correct, press <asterisk> for further
matches. To return to the previous match, press Undo.
Tip: To view the list of matches, press
Options, scroll to Matches,
then press the roller.
If there is no matching word, press
Insert to enter the traditional
text input. See “Adding a new word to the dictionary”.
Inserting numbers
To enter a number, press and hold the desired number key. The phone
inserts the number and enters the
Insert number query. Key in the desired
numbers using the traditional text input, then press OK to add the
numbers to the message you are writing and to return to the predictive
text input.
Tip: You can also enter the insert number query by pressing and holding
<pound>.
