or abc at the top of the display indicates the selected case.
• To insert a number, press and hold the key labelled with the desired
number. Or, press and hold to switch to number mode (indicated
by
123 at the top of the display). To switch back to alpha mode, press
and hold again.
• To insert a space, press 0.
• Pressing brings up a list of special characters. Scroll to the desired
character and press Roller to select the highlighted character. If the
character list continues on the next screen, you can scroll between the
screens by pressing .
Tip: When entering names in phone book, the phone uses title case,
which automatically writes the first character of a name in upper case
and the rest of the word in lower case. When writing a text message or
other text, the phone uses the text case, which automatically writes the
first character of each sentence in upper case.
Using the predictive text input
Your phone offers you a quick way to write text messages. This predictive
text input is based on a built-in dictionary to which you can also add new
words. Note that the predictive text input may not be available for all
languages.
In the predictive text input you only need to press each number key once
for one letter.
Turning predictive text input on/off and selecting
dictionary language
1 Once in the Messages menu, press Options, scroll to Dictionary and
press the roller to turn the predictive text input on.
If you decide not to use the predictive text input for writing messages,
set this option to
Off.
2 Scroll to the desired language and press OK.
