3.2 Software Monitoring of System Feature and
Scale Licenses
RTUs covering system features and scale are actively monitored by the SR OS.
When a feature that is covered by an RTU is enabled on a node, the system will
check for an installed application-specific license (ASL) covering that feature. If a
feature covered by an RTU license is in use on a node and the corresponding
software-based ASL is not installed, the node will indicate the condition to the
operator. At the current time, the lack of the software-based ASL will not stop the
feature from operating; however, according to the terms of use of the SR product, the
software-based ASL must be installed.
Note: This feature is not yet active in software and is planned for introduction in Release
20.x.
