2.2 RTU System Feature and Scale Licenses
There are specific RTUs that cover the use of features and feature scale. These
RTUs cover features such as MACsec, Telemetry, BNG server and feature scale for
VPRN, VPLS, and ESM subscriber-hosts. The RTUs are required for any node that
will activate the features.
2.3 FP3 Generation Card Licenses
For FP3 generation IOM, IMM, and XMA cards, originally there were RTUs covering
VPRN scale on a per-card basis. These RTUs have been replaced by system-level
VPRN scale RTUs. See RTU System Feature and Scale Licenses.
There are also per-card RTUs covering functionality upgrades. These licenses still
apply and are not monitored or enforced in a target node. Table 2 and Table 3
describe the IMM software licenses.

Layer 3 High Queueing (L3HQ) Feature Set Full service routing functionality, full queuing,
hierarchical policing, IPv4/IPv6 routing services
Layer 3 Basic Queueing (L3BQ) Feature Set Full IPv4/IPv6 routing services (limited to 8 ingress
and 8 egress queues per port)
Excludes use of hierarchical policers
Layer 2 High Queueing (L2HQ) Feature Set Full ESS functionality that includes the use of full
queuing and policing with Layer 2 services
Excludes use of multicast routing protocol or
services, IPv6 routing services, VPRN services
(including IPv4 and IPv6 VPNs), and network
interfaces
