6 UltrasonicSensorInstallation
6.1. UltrasonicSensorMountingGuidelines
Thefollowingguidelineswillensureoptimalsensorperformanceandpreventsensormeasurement.
1. Initslowestposition,thesensormustbe9inches(230mm)ormorefromtheground.
2. Ensurethattherearenoobstructionswithina12inch(300mm)diametercircleprojecteddirectlybelow
thecenterofthesensor.
3. Thesensorshouldbeapproximatelyverticalatnormaloperatingheights.

6.2. LowProfileBracketMountingGuidelines
1. Minimizethedistance betweentheboltstopreventbending the bracketand preventthebracket from
looseningovertime.
2. Ensurethebracket ismountedtight againstthebottom of theboom,minimizingthe distancebetween
theboomstructureandtheangledflange.
Aproblemcanariseifa
sensorisnotmountedcorrectly.Thismayonlybecomeapparentoncethecontrol
systemisswitchedfromsoiltocrop mode.
Be careful that the sensor bracket does not collide with any other part of the boom when the boom is
foldedtotransportposition.Ifpossible,mountthesensorbracketswhiletheboomsarefoldedtoensure
theywillnotcauseinterference.
