SAFETY HARNESS
WARNING - Children must always be secured with the harness as shown (shoulder harness and hip belt = correct safety
harness) when the Explorer is used. When the cart is used as a bicycle trailer, it should be used only by children old enough to
use a bicycle helmet and who can sit without support. The children must have strong enough neck muscles to hold their head
One child
Detach the buckles on the shoulder harness from the seatback. Set one shoulder harness
aside. Remove one headrest, and attach the other to the two middle Velcro attachments.
Adjust to child’s height. Place the child in the seat. Pull the harness “between the legs” up and
attach it to the shoulder harness.
Place the shoulder harness on each side of the child’s neck/throat. Attach shoulder harness to
the two middle buckles in the seatback.
Tighten until the shoulder straps are well secured around the child. Adjust pads on the
shoulder straps so that the buckles do not touch the child’s neck/throat.
Attach hip belt across the child as shown, and tighten securely.
Use bands on the shoulder harness and hip harness to secure loose strap ends.
