Overview

The NordicTrack PT3 with FREEMOTION TECHNOLOGY is a versatile resistance system designed for home use, offering a selection of weight stations to develop major muscle groups. It aims to help users tone their body, build muscle size and strength, or improve cardiovascular fitness.

Function Description:

The NordicTrack PT3 is a strength training machine that utilizes a resistance system to provide various exercises. It features adjustable arms and seat, allowing users to customize the machine for different exercises and body types. The console offers multiple workout modes, including manual, daily workouts, target muscle workouts, build and tone workouts, and iFIT workouts. The iFIT Interactive Workout System allows the use of iFIT Cards, which contain specialized workout programs. A personal trainer's voice guides users through workouts, providing instructions and counting repetitions. The console tracks progress, including sets, reps, and rest periods.

  • Console Power: Requires a 120-volt outlet via a transformer.
  • Repetition Counting: Cables must move at least 12 inches (30 cm) for repetitions to be counted by the console.

Usage Features:

  • Adjustable Seat: The seat can be attached at two different heights. For exercises not requiring the seat, it can be removed.
  • Adjustable Resistance: Resistance is increased by squeezing the Adjustment Handle, lifting its end, and moving it away from the Backrest. To decrease resistance, squeeze the handle, push down on its end, and move it toward the Backrest. Ensure the handle is fully engaged after adjustment.
  • Adjustable Arms: To adjust the Left or Right Arm, hold the arm, pull the Adjustment Knob, move the arm to the desired position, and reengage the knob into the Adjustment Plate. It is crucial to ensure the Adjustment Knob is fully engaged before exercising.
  • Cable Tightening: Cables can be tightened by moving the arms to the highest position, adjusting resistance to 310 pounds, pulling the end of the cable with cable clamps until resistance is felt, measuring the distance between the cable cover and the Left Arm, then adjusting resistance to minimum, pulling the cable, sliding the cable cover off, loosening screws, shortening the cable by the measured amount, tightening screws, and sliding the cable cover back on.
  • Console Operation:
    • Manual Mode: Allows users to enter desired sets (1-25), reps (1-25), and rest periods (5 seconds to 4 minutes). The console tracks progress and counts repetitions.
    • Daily Workouts: Offers five different workouts for men and women, guided by a personal trainer's voice and animations.
    • Target Muscle Workouts: Provides five workouts focusing on specific muscle groups (chest, arms, abs, back & shoulders, legs), with trainer guidance.

    • iFIT Workouts: Utilizes iFIT Cards for specialized workout programs. One demo card is included, and additional cards can be purchased.
    • Audio Settings: Adjustable volume, personal trainer voice (on/off), and full instructions (on/off).
    • Display Settings: Adjustable LCD contrast and backlight (on/off). A demo mode can be toggled on/off, which shows an animation after five minutes of inactivity.
  • Safety Precautions: Always wear athletic shoes. Stand on the base plate for exercises that might tip the system. Ensure cables remain on pulleys. Keep children under 12 and pets away. Keep body, clothing, and hair clear of moving parts. Ensure pins and knobs are fully engaged. Stop exercising if pain or dizziness occurs.

Maintenance Features:

  • Regular Inspection: Inspect and properly tighten all parts regularly.
  • Part Replacement: Replace any worn parts immediately. Cables should be replaced at least every two years.
  • Cleaning: Clean the resistance system with a damp cloth and a mild, non-abrasive detergent. Do not use solvents.
  • Decal Replacement: If any warning decals are missing or illegible, free replacements can be ordered by calling customer service.
  • Storage: Keep the resistance system indoors, away from moisture and dust.
  • Placement: Place on a level surface with a mat underneath to protect the floor or carpet, ensuring enough clearance for mounting, dismounting, and use.
