Figure 16. LPUART/LIN diagram
By default, LIN header J11 is connected to the LPUART0 controller of the target MCU. It can be connected to
the LPUART1 controller by reconfiguring resistors R172 and R173 (moving each resistor from its position A to
position B).
By default, MCU-Link is connected to the LPUART1 controller. It can be connected to the LPUART0 controller
by changing the setting of each of the jumpers JP16 and JP17 from 1-2 shorted to 2-3 shorted.
Table 13 provides more details on LPUART/LIN connections in the KW45B41Z-EVK board.

Voltage translators Transceiver Connector / MCU-Link
Two bidirectional voltage translators U9
(74LVCH1T45) and U11 (74LVC2T45
GT,115). U9 and U11 shift voltage levels
of signals between the target MCU and
LIN transceiver from VBOARD to 5 V
and vice versa. U11 also drives the
target MCU signal used to switch LIN
transceiver between Normal mode and
Sleep mode.
LIN 2.2A / SAE J2602
transceiver U10 (NXP TJA1027
T/20), which works as an
interface between the LIN
master/slave protocol controller
and physical bus in a LIN
network. It is primarily intended
for in-vehicle subnetworks
using baud rates of up to 20
kBd and is compliant with LIN
2.0, LIN 2.1, LIN 2.2, LIN 2.2A,
and SAE J2602 specifications.
1x4 pin LIN header J11. It
allows external LIN connection
and has the following pinout:
• 1: LIN transceiver connection
• 2: Power connection (P12V)
• 3: Not connected (NC)
• 4: Ground (GND)
mikroBUS socket connector
J13. It allows a UART
connection between the target
MCU and plugged-in click
board.
LPUART0
Arduino socket DL connector
