When transporting the heat pump:
1. Review the physical specifications of your heat pump, to ensure equipment
used and delivery route is appropriate for the size and weight of the unit.
2. Do not tilt the unit beyond 45° at any time. For handling purposes, see center
of gravity diagram below (on following page).
3. Do not hoist the unit with chains or straps unless spreader bars are furnished
and used as depicted in the figures on this page. The side panels and roof
of the unit are not constructed to handle significant force from the sides
or above. Follow all standards and best practices for hosting and load
stabilization
4. When using a forklift to raise or move the heat pump, ensure the forks are
positioned correctly between the runners on the bottom of the unit. The unit
base frame includes holes for forks or lifting support members. Note that
1-½” or smaller shank forks will fit the available lifting holes in the base
of the unit. See dimensional drawings for size and spacing of forklift access
holes. Follow all standards and best pactices for lifting and load stabilization.
IMPORTANT: Do not remove, cover, or deface any permanent
instructions, wiring diagrams, labels, or the rating labels present on
the unit. These are important for installation and service.
HEAVY OBJECT: All Heat Pump Water Heaters (HPWHs) covered
by this manual are beyond the safe lifting weight for one person. Use
proper conveyance equipment to move the unit for storage or during
installation. Use OSHA approved safety equipment when moving the
unit.
