Pipe Sizing and Care:
All connected piping must be sized for the design flow rates, appropriate
velocity, and available static pressure for the heat pump in use. Refer to
the performance specifications for this information. Ensure that pipes
are clean and protected from intrusion of dirt or other contaminants
during the installation.
Water Quality:
Water quality is an important concern for human health and well
being. Ensure source supply water is clean and meets all applicable
standards for potable water consumption. In addition, water quality
can aect longevity and performance of the heat pump water heater
system. Ensure system water meets, or is treated to meet, the
specifications in the table of water quality guidelines in this manual.
All connected pipes and components should be pressure tested
with air before filling with water. A thorough fill and purge process is
required to remove any air bubbles from the lines BEFORE starting up
the unit. Failure to purge piping of air bubbles can damage the internal
circulator. Install purge valves in the connected piping to facilitate this
process.
