10-1. Changing Method
Change the leaf chain with the following procedures.
Procedure :
1- Turn on the power. (NFB →control unit →operation preparation)
2- Return the turret to its zero point on the X-axis and fix it with the fixture.
3- Move the balancing weight on the Z-axis and fix it with bracket ZR and ZL.
4- Make sure leaf chain is slack.
5- Turn off the power. (Z-axis motor brake is activated in synch with turning the power off.)
6- Remove the leaf chain to replace it with the new one.
7- The installation procedure is the reverse of the removal procedure step “1-” to “5-”.
How to Remove the Leaf Chain
Pull out the split pin indicated below, and remove the pin and metal part for outer link.

CAUTION
• Use the new split pin after removing the leaf chain.
• Be sure to bend the split pin tip when the split pin is inserted.
• Change the leaf chain for both right and left axes at the same time.
• When replacing the leaf chain, be sure to coat the whole chain with Molykote (or equiv-
alent product).
