In winter with temperatures equal to or lower than 32ºF (0°C), make sure the condensate drain pipe
is protected from freezing in order to ensure draining. In the event of prolonged operation during
the winter with temperatures below 41ºF (5°C), install the optional basin heater kit.
2.4.3 - Assembly of the wall sleeves and external grilles
• After drilling or cutting the holes, insert the supplied plastic sleeve (G) into the holes. Since the sleeve
(G) isdesignedfor8”holes,youwillhavetocuto5”fromthelongsideofthesleevefor6.5”holeap-
plication(g.11).
The sleeves should be cut 2” (51mm) shorter than the depth of the wall.
• Roll the sleeve (G) and insert it into the hole, paying attention to the seam which should be taped and
whichmustalwaysfaceupwards(g.12).Useasharputilityknifetocutthesleeve.(g.12).
To position the external grilles, proceed as follows:
a. Applytheseal(F)tothewallange(D),ensuringitlinesupwiththeouteredgeoftheangeasindicated
inthegure13.
b. Fixthetwoangesusingtwo1/4”(6mm)pegsandcheckthatthetwomountingholesarehorizontal
(g.14-15-16).
c. Fitthesmalleyeletofthespring,withthelongstem,onthecappin(onbothcomponents)(g.17).
d. Insert the two caps (with spring), on the front part of the external grille, on its two housings, pulling until
itclicks(g.18)andcouplethetwochainstothelargeeyeletofthespring.
e. Using one hand, grip the two chains connected to the grille.
f. Bendtheexternalgrillesback,grippingthemwithyourfreehandwheretheybend,andinsertyourngers
insidethesinglelouvers(g.19).
g. Insert your arm into the sleeve until the grille protrudes completely outwards.
h. Reopenthegrille,beingcarefultokeepyourngersinsidethelouvers.
i. Turn the grille until the louvers are fully horizontal and tilted downwards.
j. Pullthechain,tensioningthespring,andcouplethechainringtothepinoftheinnerangethrough
whichthesleevepasses(g.20).
k. Usehandshearstocutoanyexcesschainlinks.
2.4.4 - Preparing the holes on the unit
a. If8”sleevesarebeingusedthefanextensioncable(W)(g.21)mustberemoved.
b. Useplierstoremovetheknockoutsfromtherearcover(g.22-A).
c. Then, rotate the section of the knock out to be removed back and forth with your hand until you remove
theremainingknockouts(g.22-B).
d. Trimexcessiveinsulatingmaterialinsidetheholeusingautilityknife(g.22-B).
The rear cover allows the use of a rectangular return duct. If you prefer this type of installation,break
the rectangular knock out shown in g. 23 and use a air intake grille of a size suitable for the air
intake channel.
