Aspirate water
1.
Turn ON the suction pump.
2. Immerse the distal end of the insertion section in clean water.
Press the suction valve and aspirate the water into the channel for
30 seconds (see Figure 7.13).
3. Remove the distal end of the insertion section from the water.
Press the suction valve and aspirate air for 10 seconds.
4. Turn the suction pump OFF.
5. Connect the 30 cm
3
(30 ml) syringe to the irrigation port.
6. Immerse the distal end of the insertion section in the water. Pull the plunger
and aspirate the water into the balloon channel three times.
7. Remove the distal end of the insertion section from the water.
Pull the plunger and aspirate air through the balloon channel three times.
8. Disconnect the syringe from the endoscope.
Disconnect the endoscope, reusable parts, and cleaning
equipment
Do not touch the light guide of the endoscope connector
immediately after removing it from the light source because it
is extremely hot. Operator or patient injury may result.
When using biopsy valve (MD-495), attach the biopsy valve
cap during the procedure. Otherwise the detergent solution
could leak or spray from it, and operator injury can result.
The single-use suction valve (MAJ-209) and single-use
biopsy valve (MAJ-210, MAJ-1414) are intended for a single
use only. Discard them after use; do not attempt to reuse or
resterilize them.
1. Disconnect the suction tube from the suction connector of the suction valve.
2. Disconnect the suction valve from the endoscope (see Figure 7.14). When
using the single-use suction valve (MAJ-209), discard it. When using the
suction valve (MAJ-207), place it in a container of detergent solution. Clean,
disinfect and sterilize the items according to the instructions given in Section
7.9, “Cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization procedures for reusable parts
and cleaning equipment”.
