5. Photomicrography
a) The picture is out of focus.
You are using the OM camera with the
shutter speed set faster than 1/2 sec.
Use the ND filter and select a slower shut-
ter speed.
b) The edges are blurred.
You are using an achromatic objective.
This type of objective cannot bring edges
into sharp focus.
Use a Plan objective when necessary.
c) The viewfinder image does
not look sharp.
The correction collar of the LWDCDPlan
40XPL-6 is not adjusted.
Adjust the correction collar according to
the thickness of the vessel bottom.
d) A room window or fluorescent
lamp was also shot.
Stray light entered through the eyepieces
or the camera’s viewfinder.
Cap both eyepieces and the camera’s
viewfinder.
