2. Confirm that the light is emitted from the Distal End of the endoscope.
3. If the light is not emitted, the lamp may be damaged or the battery may have
run out. Rotate the Miniature Light Source and align the “OFF” mark with the
red Mark#3 to turn the switch off (see Figure 4.9).
4. Replace the lamp or battery with a new one according to “Replacement of
the Lamp” on page 30 or “Replacement of the Battery” on page 32. Then,
inspect the illumination using the procedure given above.
The average lamp life is approximately 20 hours. Keep track
of lamp usage and replace it so that it will not run out during
an examination.
Inspection of the Endoscopic Image
1.
Turn the Diopter Adjustment Ring until the fiber pattern is clear. Confirm that
an object approximately 6 mm from the Objective Lens can be seen clearly.
2. Inspect the brightness by covering the Distal End with your hand (see Figure
3.14).

3. If the endoscopic image is too dark, the battery may be close to running out.
In this case, rotate the Miniature Light Source and align the “OFF” mark with
the red Mark#3 to turn the switch off (see Figure 4.9).
4. Replace the battery with a new one according to “Replacement of the
Battery” on page 32. Inspect the image using the given above procedure.
5. Turn the lamp off.
