Changing the shutter speed for
shooting pictures
This function allows you to set the shutter speed manually. The camera
sets the aperture automatically. Set the shutter speed according to the
subject and the type of effect you want.
1 Press XY to set the shutter
speed.
The shutter speed bar is displayed.
X : Sets the shutter speed slower.
Y : Sets the shutter speed faster.
Shutter speed range: 4" to 1/1000
When the exposure is correct, the
shutter speed is displayed in green.
When the correct exposure cannot be
obtained, the shutter speed is displayed
in red.
Note
To avoid camera movement, you are recommended to use a tripod when taking
pictures requiring a slow shutter speed.
Setting a fast shutter speed lets you
capture fast-moving action as though it
was stopped in motion.
Setting a slow shutter speed blurs a
moving subject, giving the impression of
movement.
