The DL100 is a hardware device providing three basic functions to facilitate the management and
monitoring of both serial port devices and environmental conditions. These functions are:
• Data collection, storage and forwarding
• Remote access of serial devices
• Monitoring of serial and environmental alarm conditions
Communication Methods
The DL100 has a diverse selection of communication methods available for different applications.
The following methods can be used to either access the command port or provide a pass-through
connection to devices attached to the serial ports. All methods of connecting to the unit can be
secured via password for protection of data and hardware.
• RS-232 serial
• Telnet
• Standard modem serial
• Security callback modem serial
Records stored inside the DL100 may be retrieved by any of the following methods:
• FTP push (automatic delivery)
• RS-232 serial to command port
• Telnet to command port or pass-through
• Telnet real-time sockets
• Modem serial to command port or pass-through
Alarms generated or detected within the DL100 can be delivered through any of the following
means:
• Alphanumeric pager
• Numeric pager
• Modem callout
• SNMP trap
