Entering a name
1 Execute steps 1 and 2 in
“Entering a name” on page 30.
Tip
If you are naming an MD disc or tack, just
press NAME.
2 Press DISPLAY repeatedly until
the character type you wish to
enter appears in the display.
See step 3 on page 30 for details.
3-a Press the character buttons to
enter the desired characters
printed on the buttons.
Refer to “What characters can be
entered?” on page 31.
If the character you wish to enter is not
printed on the buttons, execute step 3-
b below.
Entering an Easy Title
See page 31 for the Easy Title explanation.
Easy Titles can only be entered in the 3-b
way.
3-b Press / repeatedly until
the desired character appears in
the display, then press ENTER or
to confirm.
The Easy Title must be entered in this
way. Other characters can also be
entered in this way.

character

between characters

If you are naming an MD disc or track, you
can use the NAME button.
Correcting and erasing a character
If the unit is not “Name In” mode, execute step 1 in
“Entering a name” on the left column, then follow the
steps below.
1 Press / repeatedly until the
character you wish to correct or erase
flashes.

When correcting
Enter the desired character (or title)
following steps 2 and, 3-a or 3-b on the left
column.
When erasing
Press CLEAR.
Inserting a character
If the unit is not “Name In” mode, execute step 1 in
“Entering a name” on the left column, then follow the
steps below.
1 Press / repeatedly until the
character behind the point at which you
wish to enter a new character flashes.
2 Press
/ repeatedly until “ ”
appears, then press ENTER.
3 Enter the desired character following
steps 2 and, 3-a or 3-b on the left column.
