Recording from a Connected External Device to an MD
You can record data from an external device to
an MD.
About digital recording
The FR-X7A features a sampling rate converter, which
enables you to record digital signals with sampling fre-
quencies of 32kHz or 48kHz from various external
sources (such as a DAT or satellite broadcast programs)
in addition to CD data (44.1kHz).
Signal Synchro Recording starts recording onto an
MD when a signal is received from a source con-
nected to the input jacks.
1 Execute Steps 1 to 3 on the left of this page.
The MD is set to recording pause.
2 Press REC.
“Signal Rec” appears in the display, then the MD
switches to Signal Synchro Recording pause.
3 Start playing the selected source.
When a sound signal is received from the source,
the MD will automatically start recording.
(You do not need to press MD to start record-
ing in Step 5 on this page.)
Adjusting the recording level
See page 38.
Turning Level Sync on or off
See “Numbering the songs — Level Sync” on
page 39.
Numbering the desired song(s)
Press REC at the point at which you wish to assign
a track number. If the interval between two presses of
REC is shorter than four seconds, the songs may
not be numbered.
To pause recording
Press MD . Press the button again to resume
recording.
Stopping the MD
To cancel a recording in progress, press MD .
Checking the recording result
After recording is complete, press the MD recorder’s
button or the remote controller’s button for
MD.
Playback starts from the top of the recording.

select the desired external sound

Note
If you have changed the title of the device,
the new title appears (see page 66).

Press REC to set the recorder
in recording Standby mode.
Tip
If external digital signals are input, or if the
unit displays “D.In Unlock,” or if the DIGITAL
indicator is flashing, then the digital connec-
tor is not connected correctly, or else the
power is not turned on to the connected
external component.

Start playing the external device.
Adjusting the recording input level on
the FR-X7A will change the monitoring
volume level.

Press MD to start recording.
When an MD is recorded up to its end,
the MD automatically stops.
