Why does the ooma telo Telephone voice constantly break up?
    • D
      Danielle AustinJul 26, 2025
Voice quality depends on your Internet connection's speed and quality. For optimal performance, hardwire your Ooma Telo between the modem and router. This setup prioritizes phone calls over other network traffic. You can also optimize bandwidth allocation by connecting a computer to the HOME port, going to setup.ooma.com, and clicking the Advanced tab.

First, verify that you have activated your device. If you plugged it in before activation, reboot it. Next, check that your network cables are securely plugged in and that the INTERNET port is connected to your router (or modem); the LED at the bottom right should be green. Ensure your Internet connection is working by connecting a computer to the HOME port and browsing to my.ooma.com to see the My Ooma login screen. If not, troubleshoot your Internet. As a final step, try rebooting your Telo, modem, and router.
