Other Medical Devices
If you use any personal medical device, consult the manufacturer
of your device to determine that it is adequately shielded from RF
energy.
Your physician may be able to assist you in obtaining this
information.
User Safety
NEVER hold the radio so that the antenna is very close to, or
touching exposed parts of the body, especially the face or eyes,
while transmitting. The radio will perform best if the microphone is
held 5–10 cm from the lips and the radio is vertical.
NEVER operate the radio with a headset or other audio accessory
at a high volume level.
NEVER short the terminals of the battery pack.
NEVER use your radio outdoors during a thunderstorm.
DO NOT push the PTT button if you do not intend to transmit.
DO NOT modify the radio for any reason.
DO NOT use any non-approved battery packs or chargers.
AVOID storing or charging your radio in direct sunlight.
AVOID storing, using or charging your radio where temperatures
are below -20° C or above +60° C.
AVOID exposing the radio to heavy rain, and NEVER immerse it in
water. The radio construction is water resistant and NOT
waterproof (submersible).
DO keep the radio out of reach of babies and small children.
Changes or modifications to your radio that are not expressly
approved or authorised may void your authority to operate the
radio under relevant laws and regulations.
