cgm.3 system
Fully SF6 gas insulated medium voltage switchgear up to 40.5 kV in accordance with IEC Standards
Voltage presence indication is not sufcient
in itself to ensure that the installation has
been disconnected from the electricity supply.
Before accessing the cable compartments,
it is necessary to conrm that the feeder is
connected to earth.
The ekor.vpis or ekor.ivds voltage indicator can be
replaced if necessary. To do so, loosen until removing the
two screws on the top right and bottom left of the indicator
using a medium size Philips screwdriver. The ekor.vpis
or kor.ivds unit can then be disconnected from the base
without needing to power down the feeder.
7.2 Acoustic earthing prevention alarm test
To test that the ekor.sas acoustic alarm is working correctly,
connect the ekor.vpis at 230 V
ac
with 4 mm terminals, which
are placed in the indicator between the earth test point and
the test point for phase L1. Maintain the auxiliary power
for 5 minutes, after which time the lever is inserted in the
earthing switch shaft in order to carry out the operation.
The alarm starts to sound and continues to sound for at
least 30 seconds. It will stop when the lever is removed.
The ekor.sas alarm can be replaced if necessary, since it
is joined to the associated units with two friction-fit PCB
connectors:
• One 3-pin connector, polarised for the voltage
presence Indicator.
• One 2-pin connector for the lever microswitch.
The procedure is as follows:
Remove the driving mechanism cover.
• Unscrew the ekor.sas unit to extract it.
• Undo both connectors and replace the current
unit; then connect it to the lever microswitch
(2-pin connector) and the voltage indicator
(polarised 3-pin connector).
