3.1 Signals of RS232C Connector
CD (Received line signal detector)
This signal line goes on when the received signal is within a specified range. The serial
data unit sends and receives data when the CD signal (received line signal detector)
is on. Please be aware that, if no on signal is received from the other device, the serial
data unit does not receive data (and no data is taken into the received buffer). If this
signal line is not connected to the other device, it should be connected to the ER (Data
Terminal Ready) of the serial data unit.
ER (Data terminal ready)
This signal line indicates that the mated serial data unit is ready for operation. The ER
signal of the serial data unit is normally on.
