Shared memory configuration
The configuration of the shared memory in the serial data unit is shown below.
Addresses are expressed as decimal numbers, so to specify address 501 in the
program, “K501” should be specified in the program.
Address Contents of allocation Description
1 to 250 COM.1 Sent buffer (500 characters) This is the area to which the data to be
sent to the RS232C device is written.
251 to 500 COM.1 Received buffer (500 characters) This is the area in which data already re-
ceived from the RS232C device is stored.
501 to 750 COM.2 Sent buffer (500 characters) This is the area to which the data to be
sent to the RS232C device is written.
751 to 1000 COM.2 Received buffer (500 characters) This is the area in which data already re-
ceived from the RS232C device is stored.
1001 COM.1 End code setting area If “Any code” is specified only in the trans-
mission format, any desired end code
1002 COM.2 End code setting area
should be specified in the lower byte of this
address.
1003 COM.1 Transmission format setting area To change the transmission format, set any

1005 COM.1 Number of byte of received data The number of received data bytes is
stored here.
1006 COM.2 Number of byte of received data
The end code segment is also counted as
part of the number of bytes.
Notes
• The addresses of the sent buffer for CH1 start from address 1.
Do not write data so that it starts from address 0.
• The setting areas for addresses 1001 ~ 1004 are used when an
end code and transmission format are specified in the shared
memory. Normally, it is not necessary to write anything to
these areas.
