Pull out the air lter cover from the hook of the projector while slightly pushing upward the tabs of the air
lter cover and open it in the direction of the arrow in gure.
f
When pulling open the air lter cover, be sure to rmly hold the air lter cover with your hand. Opening the
air lter cover quickly may result in the cover falling.
3) Remove the main filter unit.
f
Pull out the main lter unit from the tabs of the projector while slightly pressing the knob at the center of the
frame at the connecting terminal side (rear side) inward as shown by the arrow, and remove the main lter
unit. (Fig. 2)

After pulling out the main lter unit, remove foreign objects and dust from the main lter unit compartment
and the projector’s air intake port if there are any.
4) Remove the pre-filter from the air filter cover.
f
Put your nger in the groove (in the following gure) and remove the pre-lter from the claws.
f
After removing the pre-lter, please remove foreign objects and dust if there are any on the air lter cover.
Cleaning the air lter unit
Remove the main lter unit and the pre-lter beforehand according to the previously described procedure in
“Removing the air lter unit”.
You can wash both the main lter unit and the pre-lter.

1) Wash the air filter unit. (Fig. 1)
i) Soak the air filter unit in cold or warm water and then lightly rinse it.

Do not use cleaning tools such as brushes.
f
When rinsing, hold the frame of the main lter unit without putting strong pressure on the lter. Also, please
don't put strong pressure on the pre-lter.
ii) Rinse the air filter unit two or three times by using fresh water each time.
f
Insufcient rinsing may result in odors.
2) Dry the air filter unit. (Fig. 2)
f
Let the air lter unit naturally dry off in a well-ventilated place where there is little dust and is not exposed to
direct sunlight.
f
Do not dry using drying devices such as dryers.
f
After the air lter unit is dried, proceed to “Attaching the air lter unit” (

page 134).
