*Operation Mode: Press the “STOP” button for a duration of 3 seconds to change
AUTO mode or Manual mode*
Pre-cautions when setting up the master pump;
1.
Make sure that the RS-485 wires are correctly connected between the VFD-4000 inverters.
2. The drive that the sensor is connected to should always be designated as the Master pump
and the rest of the drives within the booster system should be set as the slaves in sequence.
To set the mode from either Auto and Manual, please follow the instructions below;
1) Auto Mode (Constant Pressure)
Press the ”STOP” button for a duration of 3 seconds. The Master pump will be indicated as
NUMBER 1 on the upper right-hand corner of the screen. The same procedure should be performed
to identify the slave pumps. Slave pumps will be indicated with the number 2~5 in sequence.
*Caution: the SEN or CON Error will occur if the sensor connection is incorrect*
2) Manual Mode (Constant Speed)
Once the manual mode is set, a letter “C” will appear on the upper-right of the screen
In MANUAL MODE, change the constant speed required by pressing button and press
the “RUN” button once the desired Hz is selected.
Note: If the mode cannot be changed, please check if the sensor is properly connected.*

Parallel Operation
The VFD-4000 can parallel operate up to maximum 4 pumps.
To set Parallel operation, please change the operation method to the auto operation
mode.
1. Setting up the MASTER pump:
Press the “STOP” button for a duration of 3 seconds. Number 1 shall appear on the top right-hand corner
of the screen, which is an indication that the master pump was set-up correctly.

*Note: Please check if the sensor is properly connected to the VFD-4000 before designating the
MASTER pump*
2. Setting up the SLAVE pump:
Press the “STOP” button for a duration of 3 seconds and the slave should state “2”. Same
sequence and procedure is identical for up to 5 pumps. Make sure that the RS-485 is
connected properly between the VFD-4000.

Option: The VFD-4000 can be connected to the PPC-M70T for system monitoring
and PENTAIR IOT applications*
