Taking Still Pictures

In self-timer mode, the picture is taken a fixed time after the shutter
release button is pressed.
Use the 10-second self-timer when you want to be included in a group
picture.
Use the 2-second self-timer to avoid camera shake when you press the
shutter release button.
1 Press the m button in Capture mode to display g or
Z on the LCD monitor.
2 Press the shutter release button.

The picture is taken approximately ten
seconds after the shutter release button
is pressed. The self-timer lamp lights for
about seven seconds, then blinks for
about three seconds.
Z The self-timer lamp blinks for about two
seconds after the shutter release button
is pressed and the picture is taken.
Using the Self-Timer
Focusing may be compromised if you move the camera while the
self-timer lamp is blinking when taking still pictures.
If you press the C button, recording movies will start after ten
seconds (or two seconds).
To cancel the self-timer, press any button, such as the MENU
button, while the second count is displayed.
