Repeat accuracy (repeatability) The measurement is repeated on the same
target and under the same conditions. The
error is the repeatability value. The
measured value noise is not taken into
account.
Measured value noise Randomly distributed deviation of a
measured value by an average value. The
distribution of the individual measurement
values typically follows a statistical normal
distribution.
Measuring range The range between the smallest and
largest object distance in which the
measuring instrument supplies readings
within the specification.
