Trouble shooting
This chapter summarizes the most common problems you could encounter with
the appliance. If you are unable to solve the problem with the information
below, visit www.philips.com/support for a list of frequently asked questions
or contact the Consumer Care Center in your country.
Problem Cause Solution
The appliance produces no steam. The appliance has not heated up
sufficiently (power button flashes).
Let the appliance heat up for 80
seconds. When the appliance is
ready for use, the light turns
steady.
Auto shut-off has been activated
when the appliance has not been
used for more than 5 minutes
(power button flashes).
Press the power button and wait
for 80 seconds for the appliance to
heat up again.
Steam trigger has not been
pressed to emit steam.
Press the steam trigger to activate
steam.
Low water level in the tank or the
tank is not inserted properly.
Refill the water tank and insert it
properly.
Steam lock mode has been
deactivated after 3 minutes.
Wait for 5 seconds before
activating steam lock mode again.
Normal steaming can still be
activated immediately after steam
lock mode ends.
The steam function has been
disabled until you have performed
the Calc Clean process.
Perform calc clean after calc clean
reminder is given (see chapter
Smart Calc clean system).
Water leaks out from the
appliance base.
The water tank is not inserted
properly.
Insert the tank properly.
Water tank has been overfilled. Do not overfill as this might cause
water leaks from the water tank
during transportation/ when the
water tank is tilted.
Steam lock cannot be activated. Fail to enter steam lock function. Double tap to activate the steam
lock function.
