OPERATING

SPEAKER
SYSTEM
:

You
can
connect
up
to
12
digital
speakers
to
your
DSC
950.

Each
digital
speaker
can
be
configured
for
a
speaker
system
_
|
(A,
B
or
C)
and
for
a
channel
(left,
right,
mono).
Make
sure
that
all
speakers
in
one
room
have
the
same
speaker
system
setting.
This
means
that
all
soeakers
in
Room
A
should
be
set
to
system
A,
all
speakers
in
room
B
should
be
set
to
system
B
and
all
speakers
in
room
C
should
be
set
to
system
C,
NOTE:
Only
speaker
system
A
can
be
located
in
the
same
room
as
your
DSC
950.
Several
speakers
in
one
room
can
have
the
same
channel
setting
(e.g.
two
left
and
three
right
speakers).
Press
SPEAKERS

and
SPEAKERS
C

speaker

The
display
shows
all
settings
of
a
particular
speaker
system.
Press
the
DISPLAY
A/B/C/OFF
key

until
the
required
speaker
system
appears
in
the
display.
The
settings
of
the
volume,
bass
and
treble
of
the
selected
speaker
system
appear
on
the
display.
Note:
When
COMPENSATION
9
is
switched
on,
the
indica-
tor
above
this
key
lights
up.
The
bass
and
treble
volume
will
only
be
displayed
when
compensation
is
switched
off.
You
can
now
adjust
the
sound
volume
with
the
VOLUME
control
6.
Adjust
the
bass
tones
with
BASS
4
and
the
high
tones
with
TREBLE
5
(only
possible
when
compensation
is
switched
off)
The
balance
can
be
adjusted
with
the
BALANCE
keys
on
your
remote
control
(see
also
the
chapter
BALANCE).

Press
MUTE
9
if
you
want
to
decrease
the
volume
by
24
dB.
Operating
a
speaker
system
via
the
DSC
950
remote
control
¢
Since
all
DSS930
speakers
have
their
own
infra
red
remote
control
sensor,
you
can
switch
on
speaker
system
A,
B
and
C
from
any
room
by
pointing
the
remote
control
to
a
speaker
and
pressing
the
respective
keys.
e
The
volume,
bass,
treble,
balance
and
compensation
of
each
speaker
system
can
be
adjusted
in
the
same
way.
(see
also
the
chapter
REMOTE
CONTROL.)
When
the
DSC950
is
in
standby
mode,
it
will
directly
be
switched
to
operating
mode
as
soon
as
the
SOURCE
SELECT
knob
is
touched.
When
this
knob
is
released
(and
not
turned)
all
other
sets
in
the
system
(connected
via
the
ESI
sockets)
become
active.
The
source
which
was
selected
last
before
the
system
was
switched
to
standby
will
be
selected
again.
When
the
SOURCE
SELECT
knob
is
touched
and
turned,
only
the
DSC950
and
the
selected
source
(indicated
on
the
alpha-numeric
part
of
the
display,
e.g.
Flute)
will
become
active.
NOTE:
A
selection
is
only
made
when
the
turning
is
stopped
for
more
than
one
second
(to
prevent
that
auONg
turning
of
the
knob
all
sources
become
active).
By
turning
the
SOURCE
SELECT
knob
one
step
to
the
left
you
select
the
source
left
to
the
current
source.
By
turning
the
SOURCE
SELECT
knob
one
step
to
the
right
you
select
the
source
right
to
the
current
Source.
When
AUTO
SELECT
is
activated,
you
can
switch
both
the
source
and
the
DSC950
to
active
mode
by
simply
pressing
‘PLAY’
on
CD
or
Deck
or
one
of
the
tuner
preset
keys.
Source
selection
via
the
remote
control
handset
Press
(for
more
than
1
second)
the
respective
source
key
on
the
remote
control.
The
selected
source
and
the
DSC950
will
become
active.
