Digital
record
selection
When
you
select
with
the
REC.OUT
14
key
a
digital
source
(connected
via
the
digital
sockets),
you
can
make
a
direct
digital
recording.
Notes:
e
Make
sure
that
the
source
(e.g.
CD)
and
the
recorder
(e.g.
DCC)
are
connected
to
the
DSC
via
the
digital
sockets.

you
want
to
make
a
recording
of
an
analog
source,
make
sure
that
the
recorder
(e.g.
DCC)
is
set
to
analog
input
mode.
Your
DSC
950
contains
an
analog-to-digital
converter
for
all
analog
inputs.
However,
each
input
can
have
a
different
volume
level.
A
CD
player
has
for
instance
a
higher
volume
level
than
a
tuner.
With
the
LEVEL
ADJUST
key
11
you
can
adjust
the
sensitivity
of
each
input
separately.
These
adjustments
have
already
been
made
for
you
in
the
factory.
It
is
normally
not
necessary
to
change
them,
but
If
desired,
they
can
be
changed
as
follows:

Select
with
the
SOURCE
SELECT
knob

the
source
of
which
you
wish
to
adjust
the
input
level.

Adjust
the
input
level
with
the
VOLUME
knob

volume
as
high
as
possible,
but
make
sure
that
in
the
presence
of
a
strong
signal,
the
peak
meter
does
not
enter
the
red
part.
The
level
can
be
adjusted
from
-3
to
+23
dB
in
several
steps.

again
when
the
level
has
been
adjusted.
The
level
will
be
stored
in
the
memory
and
recalled
each
time
the
respective
source
Is
selected.
NOTE:

the
selected
source
an
analog
and
a
digital
input

connected,
the
level
adjustment
will
be
analog,
although
the
DSC
has
selected
digital
in.
The
level
adjustment
ts
only
audible
for
the
headphone
connection.

IMPORTANT

distorted,
check
the
peak
meter,

red

adjust
the

BALANCE
The
balance
can
be
adjusted
with
the
BALANCE
keys
on
the
remote
control.

The
white
bax
in
the
upper
part
of
the
display
shows
the
balance
adjustment.
The
fourth
box
indicates
the
center
position
(as
shown
above).

Three
seconds
after
the
BALANCE
keys
on
the
remote
have
been
pressed,
the
display
changes
to
normal
mode
and
shows
the
selected
source
and
its
settings
again.
e
A
different
balance
can
be
set
for
each
speaker
system.
