Note
The audio source on a disc in a Dolby Digital multi channel surround format cannot be recorded as digital sound
by an MD or DAT deck.
By connecting this unit to a Dolby Digital decoder, you can enjoy high-quality Dolby Digital multi channel
surround sound as heard in the movie theaters.
Playing back a DVD using incorrect settings may generate noise distortion and may also damage the speakers.
Supplied cables used in this connection are as follows:
• RCA audio cable (L/R) x 1
Please purchase the rest of the necessary cables at your local store.

Dolby Digital
Connection
If output is Dolby Digital encoded audio, connect to a Dolby
Digital decoder.
Stream
Connecting to an MD deck or DAT deck. PCM
If not connected to any external devices. PCM

Optical cable (commercially available)
Optical cable (commercially available) may be damaged when bent at sharp angles. Ensure cables are coiled in
loops with a diameter of 6 inches (15cm) or more when storing them.
Use a cable which is 9.8 feet (3m) or shorter.
Insert cable plugs firmly into the connectors when making connections.
If a plug has dust or is dirty, clean it with a soft cloth before inserting it into a connector.
