Charges will be incurred if:
a) The Porta-neb SideStream system is
returned and no fault is found.
b) Damage to the Porta-neb SideStream
system has been caused by the user, e.g.
Porta-neb compressor has been dropped,
drugs/water etc. spilt into the motor or
someone has tampered with it.
The remainder of the system which consists
of the Duratube, mouth-piece and masks
are not covered by these guarantees. This is
because these items are low-cost, limited-life
components and due to individual handling,
cleaning and sterilisation, it is not possible to
accurately predict the life of these items.
Your commitment to us
To regularly clean and maintain the Porta-neb
compressor and SideStream drug container in
accordance with the instructions. Ensure that
the Porta-neb is serviced only by the qualified
engineers, using Philips Respironics approved
parts.
Only genuine Philips Respironics parts should
be used within your Porta-neb SideStream
system and all system parts are replaced at
least once a year. Failure to maintain your
system and replace critical parts such as the
air filters (4 times a year) and SideStream drug
container (once a year) may adversely affect
your treatment and condition.
This guarantee does not affect your statutory
rights.
Service
Servicing on all Philips Respironics compressors
can be carried out by the following engineers
using the current Philips Respironics service
manual and the recommended test equipment:
• Engineers trained and certified by
Philips Respironics.
• Hospital EBME engineers who have gained an
Electrical or Mechanical ONC qualification.

7 Guarantee and service
Our commitment to you
The Philips Respironics Porta-neb compressor
is guaranteed against faults in materials and
workmanship for three years after purchase
(equipment must be cleaned and maintained in
accordance with the instructions).
If anything should go wrong with your
Porta-neb compressor within three years
from date of purchase, simply contact
Philips Respironics who will advise you how
to return the Porta-neb for repair.
The Philips Respironics SideStream drug
container is guaranteed for 12 months from
the date of purchase, based on 4 x 6 minute
treatments per day, i.e. 1460 treatments (the
SideStream drug container must be cleaned as
shown in the instructions).
