16 As soon as the filter no longer looks white
and clean it should be changed (usually
after three months). Filters will need to
be replaced more frequently if you have
smokers in your home.
17 To change the filter, unscrew the plastic
dome, take out the old filter and put in a
new one. Then screw the dome back on.
6 Accessories and spare parts
We recommend that you change the following
parts at least once per year:
• SideStream drug container
• Mouthpiece
• Duratube
The air inlet filter should be replaced at least
every three months.
If you need advice, telephone customer service.
You will need to quote the name of the drug
you use and the serial number of your Porta-
neb, which you will find inside the lid of your
Porta-neb.
15 To prevent the jets from becoming blocked
with medication, the SideStream drug
container must be boiled once a week, in
water with 2-3 drops of liquid detergent
for 10 minutes. (Take apart the SideStream
drug container before boiling).
Cautions
• When you clean the SideStream drug
container be careful not to damage the
jet holes (see diagram below).
• Never use a cleaning brush or put paper
clips or needles into the jet holes. This
will damage the drug container.

5 Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
In addition to your routine cleaning after use,
the SideStream drug container must be boiled
once a week.
Warning
The air filter and the Duratube must not be
cleaned in any liquids and should be replaced if
dirty.
5.2 Care for your Porta-neb and
its air filter
Your Porta-neb should be cleaned by wiping
the inside and outside of the case with a damp
cloth. The filter which cleans the air that you
use during treatment, gets dirty over time. If
it gets blocked the Porta-neb does not work
properly.
