Phoenix ‘SPC10e’ Self Propelled Metering Chipping Spreader 03/12
1.2.3 Forward / Reverse Control, Ground Speed & Four Wheel Drive
The ‘SPC10e’ is fitted with a ‘Hydrostatic’ Transmission system,
between the engine and the gearbox. This eliminates a clutch.
The gearbox has prop shaft drives to both the front and rear
axles.
The hydrostatic transmission allows for a very smooth operation,
i.e. snatch-free take up; and an infinitely variable travelling
speed at constant engine speed in either of the two speed
ranges. Optionally a MIDRANGE speed is available that covers
both travel speeds, so giving FOUR different speed ranges.

The medium speed ranges do not change a physical
gear set when operated.
The machine is permanent four wheel drive. This cannot be
disengaged.
