Phoenix ‘SPC10e’ Self Propelled Metering Chipping Spreader 03/12
Ground Speed Controller
This allows a maximum ground speed/set speed to be set. This
gives fine control when spreading and manoeuvring.
When the control is switched OFF the joystick returns to the
normal maximum speed available. When this is switched ON, the
machine will reach the set speed when the joystick has been
moved to its fullest forward position
Transmission Overload Device & Engine Stall Condition
The engine will not stall when its power limit is reached. In
these circumstances the transmission overload device will be
activated. The overload will bring the machine to a controlled
stop, regardless of joystick position. Once the machine is
stationary the power limit on the engine will be released.
For the operator to recover control of the machine –
Move the joystick back into NEUTRAL
Apply the parking brake
Then
either slow down the operating speed if this is possible.
or remove some of the load, such as releasing the tipping
truck from the rear
if in HIGH range select LOW range until the slope
lessens
Again, release the parking brake and move the joystick forward
(or backward) and ensure the machine moves off.
If the service/foot brake is applied this will progressively load
the engine until the braking power overcomes the transmission
and the overload device cuts-in.
