The catalytic converter is an emission control device, mounted in the exhaust system,
whose function is to reduce the polluting agents from the exhaust gases.
CAUTION
DURING OPERATION, THE CATALYTIC SILENCER DEVELOPS HIGH TEMPER-
ATURES; THEREFORE, DO NOT STOP OR PARK THE VEHICLE ON: GRASS,
DRY LEAVES OR OTHER INFLAMMABLE MATERIALS, TO AVOID THE RISK OF
FIRE.

Safe drive (02_02)
Follow these simple recommendations to use your vehicle every day, confidently and
safely. Your skills and your mechanical knowledge are the basis for safe driving. We
recommend practising driving your vehicle in traffic-free zones, in order to get well
familiar with it.
1. Always drive within the limits of your ability, strictly following the road regu-
lations of the country where you are driving.
2. Carefully adjust the position of the rear-view mirrors to easily check the road
behind you.
3. Ensure nothing hinders the travel of controls or pedals (mats, etc.)
4. Ensure that all headlamps and lights are working properly.
5. To start the vehicle, with idling engine, engage the 1st gear and gently release
the clutch lever, accelerating at the same time.
6. Reduce speed and drive carefully when on rough roads.
7. Do not brake hard on a wet, unsurfaced or slippery roads.
8. Do not downshift with the engine at high speed to avoid damaging the engine
or the gear.
9. When going downhill, do not keep the gearbox in neutral or the engine off,
but decrease speed untwisting the throttle grip. Use the brakes to help slow-
ing down the vehicle, but do not keep them pressed for extended periods, to
