MAINTENANCE
Extended Storage
Electrical Connection s
Separate electrical connector blocks and clean corrosive build-up from
connectors. Lubricate or pack connector blocks with dielectric grease
and re-connect. See page 110 for the part numbers of Polaris products.
Replace worn or frayed electrical wire and connectors. Be sure wiring
harness is properly secured away from sharp edges, steering linkage,
moving part s, and hot exhaust parts.
Battery
Always prepare and maintain the battery as outlined on page 107.
Track and Suspension
Moderate track tension should be m aintained
during summer storage. The machine should
be supported off the ground to allow the track
to hang freely. See illustration.
Transporting the Snowmobile
Whenever the snowmobile is transported:
1. Turn the fuel valve clockwise to OFF to shut off the fuel supply
(1). Turn the valve counter-clockwise to ON to turn the fuel supply
on (2). NOTE: The fuel valve is located under t he hood of your
machine.
2. Be sure the fuel cap and
oil cap are installed
correctly.
3. Always tie the
snowmobile to the
transporting unit securely
using suitable straps.
