8-3. Turn on the parallel system with utility power supply (in AC mode)
Attach the parallel cable(s) and the current share cable(s) between the UPSs in the parallel system.
NOTE: The parallel UPSs cannot use the same battery pack. Each UPS must be connected to a separate
battery pack.
Refer to figure 15 on page 45.
a) Turn on the breaker of every battery pack and then power on each UPS one by one. The fan on each UPS
will start running and each UPS will start to initialize. Several seconds later each UPS will operate in
bypass mode. After a while, the output relay on each UPS will close and now the parallel system can sup-
ply power to the loads via bypass.
b) Check if the parallel information in the LCD display is as shown in the picture below. If the parallel UPSs
have been successfully set up then the LCD display will show “Parallel: Master”, “Parallel: Slave 1” or
“Parallel: Slave 2.” If not then do not proceed to the next step.and check that the parallel cables have been
properly and securely connected.
c) Press and hold the “ON” button for 0.5s and turn on each UPS one by one. For a description on how to
turn on the UPS please refer to section 3.5.
