3. Attach the electronic console to the handrail/console assembly before installing the upright
supports onto the base of the treadmill. To attach the electronic console, take the following
steps:
a. T o access the ribbon cable you need to remove the cover plate from beneath the upright
supports’ crossbars. See Diagram 2. Use a phillips head screwdriver to remove the three
screws and detach the cover plate. Set the screws and cover plate aside.

b. Plug the ribbon cable connector into its receptacle inside the upper electronic console as
shown in Diagram 3.
Important; The connector is designed to engage in one direction only. Do not force the
connection. Make sure that the flanges on the end of the connection snap into place over
the tabs on the receptacle.
c. Remove the four button head bolts (A) and four internal star washers (B) from the
hardware kit. Place a washer on each bolt and set the bolts within easy reach of the
handrail/console assembly.
