CAUTION:
Be
sure
not
to
crimp
or
pinch
the
ribbon
cable
as
you
place
the
upright
supports
into
position.
Cables
pinched
or
othenvise
damaged
by
improper
installation
will
not
be
covered
by
the
Precor
limited
warranty.

You
can
now
access
the
mounting
plates
for
the
upright
supports.
Take
the
following
steps
to
secure
the
handrail/console
assembly
and
upright
supports
to
the
base
of
the
treadmill:
a.
P
osition
the
handraii/console
assembly
so
that
both
the
right
and
left
upright
supports
align
over
the
base
frame.
Have
your
assistant
thread
the
ribbon
cable
in
front
of
the
motor
as
shown
in
Diagram
6.
b.
Place
a
large
internal
star
(lock)
washer
(I)
on
each
of
the
two
frame-to-base
plate
bolts
(H)
and
set
the
bolts
within
easy
reach.
Carefully
lower
the
upright
supports
onto
the
base
frame
studs.

Diagram

Align
the
mounting
holes
for
the
frame-to-base
bolts.
While
your
assistant
holds
the
upright
support
assembly
firmly
in
place,
use
your
fingers
to
thread
the
bolts
through
the
mounting
holes
and
into
the
base
frame.
Note:
If
you
have
any
difficulty
mounting
the
upright
supports
onto
the
base
frame
studs,
you
may
want
to
loosen
the
three
upper
handrail
caps.

Diagram

Loosen
(but
do
not
remove)
the
three
bolts
holding
the
caps
in
place
on
either
side
of
the
handrail.
This
provides
more
flexibility
in
mounting
the
upright
supports.
Once
you
secure
the
upright
supports
onto
the
base
frame,
be
sure
the
retighten
all
six
handrail
cap
bolts.
c.
Take
the
four
lock
nuts
(C)
from
the
hardware
kit.
Use
your
fingers
to
thread
a
nut
onto
each
of
the
base
frame
studs.
d.
To
tighten
the
nuts
and
bolts,
use
a
1/2"
socket
head
wrench
with
an
extension
(or
1/2"
box
wrench).
Start
with
the
left
and
move
to
the
right
upright
support,
alternately
tightening
the
nuts
and
bolts
until
the
four
nuts
and
two
bolts
are
secure
and
tight
against
the
base
frame.
