Antenna Installation
Wi-Fi Antenna
There is one (1) Wi-Fi antenna included with the system, it is connected to the Wi-Fi connection ports on the rear of the
DVR unit. The antenna is needed to allow configuration of the unit through Wi-Fi.
4G Antennas
There are two (2) 4G antennas included with the system if you purchased the optional 4G version, they are both identical
and can be connected to either of the two (2) 4G connection ports on the rear of the DVR unit. At least one antenna
connected to the 4G primary antenna input is needed to allow connection. The second antenna is recommended as it
provides greater diversity in situations where signal is poor.
Installation Restrictions
• The antennas must be installed at least 20 cm (7 7/8”) from any person in their normal, seated position.
• The antennas must be installed at least 20 cm (7 7/8”) from any other antenna.
• Use only 2 dBi, vertical polarized, dipole antennas provided by PRO-VISION. Use of any other antenna voids the
warranty and removes the user’s authority to operate the equipment.
Recommended Installation:
• The antennas perform best when installed vertically.
• Metal panels and tinted glass reduce the range and effectiveness of the antenna, for best range install outside
metal panel or onto untint areas of windows.
• Common installation locations are in the front windshield or in the front bulkhead area of vehicles with fiberglass
front exterior headers.
• The Wi-Fi antenna should be installed with the best line of sight to the buildings Wi-Fi access point.
IMPORTANT! Some vehicles have wires embedded in the glass that are used for radio antennas and/or for defrosting
the window; do not mount the antenna to this portion of the glass as it can reduce the radio reception
and/or the heat can reduce the adhesion of the antenna on the glass.
