Testing the Keypad

Test the display by supplying power to the keypad.
• The default date and time should appear on the display. If
the controller is configured correctly, it will update the date
and time on the keypad display automatically. The controller
updates the date and time once-a-minute.

To verify that the backlight is working:
- Press the * key. The backlight should light up and the
display will read
Please Enter Access Code.
- If no keys are pressed within 10 seconds, the display will
return to the
Date/Time and the backlight will shut off.

To test touch pad operation:
- Press the
* key. When the display shows
Please Enter Access Code, press
0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. Each digit should
appear on the display as it is pressed (if Secure Entry is
enabled an
X for each digit appears)
- Press the
# key to transmit the code to the controller,
the display will show
Please Wait until a response is
returned from the controller.
- If the keypad is communicating with the controller, the
display will show either Entry Granted or another
corresponding message.
