4 General information
4.1 Application
Submersible pumps Pumpa are specially designed for operation below the water level, for
example for:
• supplying clean and utility water up to pH 5.8
• residential wells, pressure boosting pumps and agricultural facilities,
• drainage, pressure multiplication, irrigation systems,
• process water supply,
• The pump is not intended for industrial use.
• The daily volume of liquid pumped must not exceed 2.97 mᶟ
• heating systems using groundwater.
• Maximum of 20 starts per hour; wait 60 seconds between successive starts.
• Maximum immersion depth is up to 100 metres
Improper use of submersible pumps such as pumping air or explosive media is strictly prohibited.
The use of a throttling valve is prohibited, as throttling the flow increases back pressure and overloads the electric
motor.
It is forbidden to operate the pump with closed delivery pipe. The delivery pipe must be open at all times during
operation. The pressure must not exceed the allowed value of 0,85 MPa.
The unit must be protected against excessive pressure build-up by a suitable motor protection and relief valve.
4.2 Specifications
5 Electric connection
Follow the specifications on both the nameplate and the datasheet.
The following connection examples refer to the motor itself.
The pump may only be connected to a mains supply where the voltage and frequency values are the
same as those on the pump nameplate. The electrical wiring may only be carried out by a person with an electrical
qualification.
Before lowering the pump into the borehole, check that it is properly tied to the supporting rope, at the same time
checking that the other end of the rope is securely tied to the anchoring element so that the rope cannot fall into the
borehole with the pump.
The pump must always be protected against overcurrent and short circuit. The pump must be properly grounded.
