How to hot-swap failed drives in QNAP TS-1886XU-RP Storage?
- MMichael MillerAug 5, 2025
To hot-swap failed drives on your QNAP storage, first log on to QTS. Go to Main Menu > Storage Manager > Storage > Disks/VJBOD and locate the failed drive. Prepare a new hard drive with equal or greater capacity. Remove the failed drive from the NAS, wait for 20 seconds or until the NAS beeps twice, then remove the failed drive from the drive tray. Insert the new drive into the drive tray and install it. The NAS will beep twice. Finally, go to Main Menu > Storage Manager > Storage Space, locate the volume with the new drive, and verify that the status is Rebuilding.
