Refrigerant dryer maintenance
Safety precautions
Thedryercircuitcontainsrefrigerant.When handling refrigerant, all applicable Safety
precautions during maintenance or repair must be observed. Specically be aware of
following points:
•Contactofliquidrefrigerantwiththeskincancausefreezing.Wearspecialgloves.
Ifcontactedwiththeskin,theskinshouldberinsedwithwater.Onnoaccountmay
clothing be removed.
•Fluidrefrigerantcanalsocausefreezingoftheeyes.Wearsafetyglasses.
•Avoidinhalationofrefrigerantvapors.Checkthattheworkingareaisadequately
ventilated.
Beawarethatinternalcomponentsofthedryersuchasthepipescanreacha
temperatureofupto110˚C(230˚F).Therefore,waituntilthedryerhascooleddown
before removing the side panels.
Beforestartinganymaintenanceorrepairwork,switchoffthevoltageandclosetheair
outlet valve.
Local legislation
Local legislation may stipulate that:
•Workontherefrigerantcircuitofthecoolingdryeroronanyequipmentwhich
influencesitsfunctionmustbeundertakenbyanauthorizedcontrolbody.
•Theinstallationshouldbecheckedonceayearbyanauthorizedcontrolbody.
General
Thefollowingremarksshouldbekeptinmind:
•Keepthedryerclean.
•Brushorblowoffthefinnedsurfaceofcondenserregularly.
•Inspectandcleantheelectroniccondensatedrainregularly.
a.FunctioningofthedraincanbecheckedbypushingtheTESTbuttonofthedrain,
consultsectionAirdryer.
b. Cleaning of the drain filter can be done by opening the manual drain valve during
a few seconds.
Device settings
Theregulatingandsafetydevicesarefactoryadjustedtoobtainoptimumperformance
ofthedryer.Donotalterthesettingofanyofthedevices.
CAUTION!
Connecting pressure measuring devices in the refrigerant circuit can change the
amount of refrigerant in the system. This results in a less optimal working of the
dryer.
