(1)

Disconnect

the

power

suppl ies

and

remove

the

instrument

covers

(see

paragraph

5.

1) .

(2)

With

a

flat

screwdriver

prise

off

the

cap

on

each

carrying

handle

boss.

Remove

the

screws

now

exposed

and

remove

the

handle.

(3)

Slide

back

the

short

length

of

metal

trim

at

each

side

of

the

instrument

into

the

space

normally

occupied

by

the

handle

boss.

This

will

expose

the

screws

which

secure

the

front

panel.

(4)

Remove

the

cap

from

the

arm

of

the

RESOLUTION

switch.

(5)

Unsolder

the

three

earth

braids

on

the

underside,

the

coaxial

connection

from

input

A

and

the

RESET

switch

connecti

ons.

(6)

Unsolder

the

resistor

and

capacitor

at

input

B from

the

pins

on

the

display

board.

(7) Remove

the

screws

securing

the

front

panel

and

withdraw

the

front

panel

and

display

p.c.b.

as

far

as

the

wiring

permits.

(8) Remove

the

seven

screws

securing

the

display

p.e.b.

to

the

front

panel,

allowing

the

p.c.b.

and

panel

to

be

separated.

Reassembly

is

carried

out

in

the

reverse

manner.

Care

must

be

taken

not

to

damage

the

edge

connector

during

reassembly.

Removal

of

Main

PCB

With

the

top

and

bottom

instrument

covers

removed

all

the

main

p.c.b.

components

are

accessible

for

servicing,

so

the

need

for

complete

removal

will

be

rare.

Remove

the

upper

and

lower

instrument

covers

as

described

in

paragraph

5.1.

(2) Remove

the

caps

from

the

arms

of

the

RESO

LUT

I

ON

switch

and

the

LINE POWER/CHARGE/BATTERY POWER

switch.

(3) Remove

the

battery

pack,

if

fitted.

(4)

Unsolder

the

connections

between

the

main

p.

c

.'b.

and

the

rear

panel

components

and

completely

remove

the

rear

panel.
