3.1. Chair Lift
3.1.1. Raising & Lowering the Chair
3.1.1.1. A pedal-operated hydraulic lift is used to raise and
lower the
Reliance®
Model 3000 Chair. The Chair may be
raised by pumping the Foot Pedal until the desired height is
reached (Refer to Figure 2). Note that a stop can be felt at the
bottom of the pumping stroke. By exerting enough force to
move the pedal beyond this stop (pumping once and holding
the pedal down), a lowering valve is opened which allows the
Chair to descend (Figure 2). The Chair will stop automatically
when it reaches the lowest position available.
3.2. Revolving
3.2.1. The Chair upper structure may be revolved 360°. Pull
up on the Foot Pedal to lock the rotational movement of the
Chair with respect to the base (Figure 2).
3.3. Repositioning the Chair Back
3.3.1. The Chair back may be reclined or raised by either
pushing downward or pulling upward on the Release Lever
(Figure 1). While the back of the Chair will recline to a horizontal
position, the Foot Rest will always remain stationery.
3.4. Arm Movements
3.4.1. The Chair arms may be moved to provide better access
to the patient, or to permit entrance to or exit from the Chair.
The movements of both arms are identical and completely
independent of each other.

CAUTION-This exam Chair is designed
for use with a specific maximum patient
weight as a static (non-moving) load.
Sudden weight shifts or impact loads
can exceed the safe static load rating of
this Chair, and may result in insufficient
stability.
CAUTION-This exam Chair is designed
for use with a patient properly positioned
in the Chair. Prior to reclining the Chair,
ensure that the patient is seated in the
Chair and that the patient position does
not move to an extreme position either
toward the head of the Chair or toward
the foot of the Chair, since this may result
in insufficient stability.
insuffisante
