Some of the parts on your vehicle
havebeendesignedtoberecycledlat
er.
These parts are easily removable in
order to be collected and reprocessed
in recycling networks.
Furthermore, by virtue of its design,
moderate fuel consumption and initial
settings, your vehicle also conforms to
current anti-pollution regulations. The
manufacturerisactivelystrivingtore
duce pollutant exhaust gas emissions
andtosaveenergy.Butthefuelcon
sumption of your vehicle and the level
of pollutant exhaust gas emissions are
also your responsibility. Ensure that it
is maintained and used correctly.
Maintenance
It is important to remember that failure
to respect antipollution regulations
could lead to legal action being taken
against the vehicle owner.
Inaddition,replacingengine,fuelsup
ply system and exhaust components
with parts other than those originally
recommended by the manufacturer
may alter your vehicle so that it no
longercomplieswithantipollutionregu
lations.
Have your vehicle adjusted and
checkedbyanapproveddealer,inac
cordance with the instructions given in
your maintenance schedule: they will
have all the equipment necessary for
ensuringthatyourvehicleismain
tained to its original standard.
Engine adjustments
– Spark plugs: for optimum fuel
economy, efficiency and performance,
the specifications which have been laid
down by our Design Department must
be strictly applied.
If the spark plugs have to be changed,
use the make, type and gap specified
foryourvehicle’sengine.Contactan
authorised dealer for this.
– Ignition and idle speed: noadjust
ment is needed.
– Air filter, fuel filter: achokedele
ment hinders performance. It must be
replaced.
Exhaust gas monitoring system
The exhaust gas monitoring system
will detect any operating faults in the
vehicle’sexhaustgasantipollutionsys
tem.
Ifthissystemmalfunctions,toxicsub
stancesmaybereleasedintotheat
mosphere or mechanical damage may
occur.
Thisindicatorlightontheinstru
ment panel indicates possible faults in
the system:
This lights up when the ignition is
switched on and goes out when the
engine is started.
– If it lights up continuously, contact an
approved dealer as soon as possible;
– If it flashes, reduce the engine speed
until the light stops flashing. Contact
