Overview

This document is a product guide for the IQMC412 and IQMC520 routers from Revgen Networks. It provides instructions for setting up, configuring, and maintaining these devices.

Function Description:

The IQMC routers are designed to provide fast dual-band Wi-Fi connectivity for all your devices. They feature built-in network security, guest Wi-Fi, and automatic over-the-air (OTA) software updates. These routers facilitate internet access through cellular networks, making them suitable for locations where traditional wired internet might be unavailable or unreliable. They support both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz Wi-Fi bands, offering flexibility for various device connections and range requirements. The devices also include multiple LAN ports for direct wired connections and a WAN port for failover to a primary internet source.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Models: IQMC412 and IQMC520
  • Antennas:
    • IQMC412: Comes with 6 antennas (4 4G/5G Antennas, 2 2.4G/5.8G Antennas).
    • IQMC520: Comes with 8 antennas (6 4G/5G Antennas, 2 2.4G/5.8G Antennas).
  • Wi-Fi Bands: Dual-band (2.4Ghz and 5Ghz).
  • Connectivity: Cellular (4G/5G), Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac wireless capability), Ethernet (RJ-45 LAN ports, WAN port).
  • Ports: SIM slot, USB port (for future use), LAN1-LAN4, WAN, RESET button, DC power input.
  • Power: Requires a power adapter (included).
  • Security: WPA2 security pre-set, with recommendations to change the default Wi-Fi password.
  • Management: Web User Interface (Web UI) accessible via a web browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) at 192.168.1.1.

Usage Features:

  • Antenna Installation: The guide provides clear instructions for installing the antennas. The two 2.4G/5.8G antennas are to be firmly inserted and screwed into the sides of the IQMC. The 4G/5G antennas are installed on the back for both models, with additional 4G/5G antennas for the IQMC520 installed in front of the 2.4G/5.8G antennas.
  • Optimal Placement: For best wireless signal transmission, the router should be placed near a window with a clear line of sight to a cellular tower. It should be kept away from metal obstructions, direct sunlight, and sources of interference such as 802.11g or 20MHz only Wi-Fi devices, 2.4Ghz computer peripherals, Bluetooth devices, cordless phones, transformers, heavy-duty motors, fluorescent lights, microwave ovens, refrigerators, and air conditioners.
  • Initial Setup:
    1. Plug the IQMC into a power outlet using the included adapter.
    2. Wait at least 5 minutes for the router to establish a cellular connection and perform necessary updates. The SYSTEM light will stop blinking once ready.
    3. Connect devices to the IQMC's Wi-Fi network (named SparQ-#######) using the password found on the bottom label of the IQMC or on the box. Alternatively, devices can be connected via Ethernet cable to a LAN port.
  • Web User Interface (Web UI):
    • Access the Web UI by opening a web browser and entering 192.168.1.1 in the address bar.
    • Login using the default username ("root") and password ("admin" or as found on the device label/box).
    • The Web UI allows users to configure various settings, including Wi-Fi security, and view network information like connected devices and data usage.
    • A navigation menu on the left side of the screen provides access to different sections such as Status, System, Administration, Modem, VPN, Services, Network, Bandwidth Monitor, Speed Test, and Splash Screen.
    • Changes made in the Web UI must be saved using the "SAVE" button at the bottom of the page.
  • Changing Wi-Fi Network Name and Password:
    1. Log into the Web UI.
    2. Navigate to "Network" -> "Wireless".
    3. Identify the 2.4Ghz (SSID: SparQ_#####) and 5Ghz (SSID: SparQ_5ghz_####) networks.
    4. Click "Edit" for the network to modify.
    5. In the "General Setup" tab, locate the "BSSID" field to change the Wi-Fi network name (ESSID).
    6. Navigate to the "Wireless Security" tab.
    7. Enter the new password in the "Key" field.
    8. Press "Save" at the bottom of the screen. These steps can be repeated for the other Wi-Fi network.
  • LED Indicators:
    • PWR (Power): Solid green when the router is powered on.
    • SYS (System): Blinks when checking for or performing a firmware update. Users are advised NOT TO POWER OFF when this light is flashing.
    • 2.4G (2.4Ghz Wi-Fi): Solid when the 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi connection is broadcasting but no device is connected; blinks when a device is connected.
    • 5.8G (5.8Ghz Wi-Fi): Solid when the 5.8Ghz Wi-Fi connection is broadcasting but no device is connected; blinks when a device is connected.
    • 4G/5G (Cellular Connection): ON when there is a connection; OFF if no connection. Solid when the router connects to the SIM bank; flickers when it gets a cellular data connection. During firmware updates, this light may temporarily be lost, but this does not affect the update process.
    • USB: For future use, no current functionality.

Maintenance Features:

  • Automatic Software Updates: The router automatically performs over-the-air (OTA) software updates. During an update, the SYS light will blink, and users are explicitly warned NOT TO POWER OFF the device.
  • Troubleshooting and Reset:
    • If difficulties arise, users should check antenna connections and power supply.
    • Moving the router to a different location might improve functionality.
    • A hard reset can be performed by pressing the reset button for 2-3 seconds. After a reset, allow the router 5 minutes to cycle before attempting to connect.
  • SIM Card Management: The guide mentions "SIM: do not remove" and "SIM removal: DO NOT USE" in the context of the SIM light, indicating that the SIM card is not intended for user removal or interaction during normal operation.
